Encinitas Fun Facts

The City has a population of about 60,000 and was incorporated in 1986. The community is comprised of Leucadia at the Northwest end, Old Encinitas along HWY 101, New Encinitas along El Camino Real, Cardiff-by-the-sea in the Southwest corner, and Olivenhain to the East - each one offering its residents a unique community feel.

Self Realization Fellowship Hermitage & Meditation Gardens

Serene gardens, epic ocean views, and tranquil grounds - this is a must see community pillar. Stop by the bookshop, stop and sit for a meditation, or just walk the grounds and get in touch with nature. Free entry, but please make a small donation when visiting.

Olivenhain

Rolling hills, small streets winding through the community, hiking/horse trails, and single family custom homes with large lots ranging from a half acre to 5 acres create a community feel unique to Olivenhain. In 1986 Olivenhain joined Leucadia, Cardiff-by-the-Sea, and Encinitas to form the incorporated city of Encinitas.

Tehcnically it is Moonlight Beach State Park, but let’s not get overly technical here. At the end of Encinitas BLVD you find Moonlight Beach. Some even say that the beach was a backdoor used by Moonshiners to deliver their goods and services under the cover of night.

Encinitas Library

This library is a local gem! Offering epic views of the Pacific Ocean this library is not your everyday book barn. A well planned and modern facility, it stands out as a place you will want to spend some time. There is plenty of space, outdoor seating, and a friendly staff.
